Internal Information: Position Requisition Form Instructions

Purpose of This Form:

  • To initiate the recruiting process and job posting for a new or replacement position.
  • To inform appropriate individuals about such a position and related needs, such as budget needs and space needs.

Applicability:

This form should be used for all regular positions, as well as for temporary, full-time positions (which are required to have competitive postings).  It may also be used for temporary, part-time if the departments desires the HR Department to post the position as a courtesy.

Supervisor’s Responsibility:

Fill out section I., forward to Department Head for approval, then to HR.

HR Responsibility:

  • Determine appropriate advertising, salary posting range, open/close dates.  Develop job vacancy posting.
  • Forward to Accounting/Finance, and Dean/VPs for approvals.

New Positions:

New positions are routed through the Facilities, Purchasing and ITS areas for space and office needs assessment.
